4 Weeks filmmaking Summer programs
For its unique mix of hands-on training, creative collaboration, ESRA 4-Week International Filmmaking Summer Programs offers an immersive introduction to filmmaking.
Students from around the world come together to learn, experiment, and create in one of Europe’s leading film schools, guided by international instructors who are active professionals.
During the program, participants combine in-class learning and skill development directly on set, as they create short films, useful for their portfolios.
The summer programs are delivered entirely in English.

Key features of the program
Week 1-2 : Training
Over the first two weeks, students take part in concentrated lectures and workshops in screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and post-production.
Week 4 : Post production
Students complete the full post-production workflow : editing, color grading and sound-mixing of their project.
Week 3 : Short Film production
They immediately put theory into practice through a 1 week supervised short film production using professional cameras and lighting equipment.
Screening / End ceremony
Students and any participants to the projects are invited to a screening of the short film and to the end ceremony where ESRA certificates of completion are delivered.
By the end of the program
Learn from professionals through lectures and workshops and write, shoot and post-produce short films in major film capitals in Europe and the USA.
COMMUNICATION
Through storytelling, directing actors, pitching ideas, editing choices, or musical expression, students learn to clarify their intentions and communicate their vision eff ectively.
LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION
Filmmaking arts are inherently collaborative arts. Through the intensive rhythm of the program, they learn how to take initiative, contribute to group projects, and support their peers’ artistic goals.
CREATIVITY
